What is reputation management?

The very name, Reputation management is self-explanatory. It’s all about how you manage your company’s reputation in today’s highly competitive world. With the internet information getting shared within matter of minutes globally, even a single bad service or a bad review can cost your business dearly. So gaining and maintaining good reputation needs lot of effort and care.

So how does one manage his/her company’s reputation?

You can describe reputation management in three basic levels. Your company will fall in any one of these three reputation management levels. Construct, 2. Maintain and 3. Recreate.

Level 1– Your company could be in anyone of these levels right now. You would need to build/construct a good reputation for your company when you haven’t done it earlier. This is a totally new strategy for your company and this can be done in-house or it can also be outsourced to companies who are well-versed in this process.

Level 2– This is the second stage where you already have a reputation in place. So maintaining the same or better reputation becomes a very important task. If you don’t focus well, you may have to start from scratch again.

Level 3–  The last one is where your company has already gotten into bad reputation. This is the toughest level as it needs lot of marketing efforts and self-promotion. Expert advice is required in these cases more than others. All negatives needs to be cleared with utmost care.
