Google Web Toolkit (GWT 2.0) is an open source tool for developing Web applications based on Ajax with Java. GWT 2.0 is a platform for application development consists of a Java class library, AJAX-style UI components (widgets), an RPC-based request or response communication framework and an integrated debug environment.

Its objective is to promote the efficient development of high-performance web applications without the developer must be an expert in browser quirks, and JavaScript XMLHttpRequest. GWT is used by many products on Google, including Gmail, Google Maps, Google Wave and the new version of AdWords. It is open source, completely free, and used by thousands of developers around the world. GWT emphasizes reusable, efficient solutions to the challenges of Ajax, namely asynchronous Remote Procedure Calls, management history, bookmarks, internationalization and cross-browser portability.
