Color tips for Designing a Website

Choosing the right colors while designing a website requires a lot of patience and experimentation, and a minimum of guesswork. When designing your website, remember to get as much meat or substance to the top of your code just below the tag as you can. And here are some things to keep in mind when planning the color scheme for your website.

The important thing to be notices while designing web pages are choosing the color scheme. Web pages look effective in digital RGB scheme, as against, CMYK, or Lab color schemes. Beside, the RGB color scheme is also essential for providing the anti-aliasing affect. RGB color scheme is also used in the web mobile to present the web pages in amazing looks. The best part is that it is easy to convert RGB colors into hexadecimal system.

Background color of the site should be a single wash and have a plenty of contrast with the text. Black – or dark Grey – text against a white background remains the most sensible option. Avoid patterns behind text.

Links should be colored in blue, largely because the web’s most popular websites typically use blue. The vast majority of websites change the color of a visited link to help users navigate. So should you. Maroon is a common choice for clicked links. Avoid using these settings to your primary navigation.

Use color sparingly if you want it to grab the eye. Color can be persuasive, but not if it is lost between a rainbow. Many websites use a blend of neutral colours and a range of shades of their main color choice’s. This is easier on the eye than trying to work with multiple primary colors. I am currently a big fan of Grey. Note that some people struggle to pick out differing shades of blue.

Be ‘web safe’. Macs and PCs both render colors differently, as do browsers. You should use ‘web smart’ colors to minimize issues. Nobody wants to read green text on a bright red background. Avoid badly color combinations. Make sure you follow the brand guidelines and use matching or complementary colors throughout the website.

Take extra care when using light text on dark backgrounds. Use gradients and shadows. This can adds a lot of depth to a site, making it appears less 2D.
